Roland Park Place is Baltimore City’s only nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering an alternative to traditional senior living by supporting active, independent lifestyles. As the only community in the region offering a metropolitan lifestyle for seniors, Roland Park Place is home to a diverse population of thinkers, doers, and volunteers who each make an impact on their community.

WHA works with Roland Park Place on message development and media relations efforts. In addition to day-to-day brand messaging and communications, WHA worked with the community on its Grand Expansion, overseeing community outreach, media, and planning of a groundbreaking event, culminating with a Grand Opening event in 2021.

As part of our Roland Park Place’s ongoing PR efforts, WHA developed and launched a bi-monthly podcast as a creative communications tool to reach potential residents. The show, A Valuable Perspective, featured the diverse backgrounds, stories, and insights of the residents and highlighted the fascinating lives of RPP residents. In 2018, the podcast was streamed directly from the WYPR website more than 400 times and downloaded from a podcast app more than 200 times. WHA’s work on A Valuable Perspective was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America (Maryland) as Best in Maryland for Podcasts in 2019.

Additionally, when COVID-19 forced the community to go on lockdown in Spring 2020, Roland Park Place entrusted WHA to develop communications to residents, staff and media communications.

WHA secured news coverage of one of the creative ways that Roland Park Place helped residents at the start of the pandemic.
