In 2005, The Port of Baltimore Tricentennial Committee (POBTC) was formed to promote the Port of Baltimore and educate the general public about the Port’s role, in honor of the Port’s 300th anniversary celebration during 2006. WHA was hired by chairperson, Helen Bentley to oversee the coordination of the year-long campaign.

WHA was privileged to plan and implement tactics including: media relations; website creation; collateral design and production; partnerships with local organizations including Heritage Walk, Living Classrooms Foundation, Maryland Science Center, B&O Railroad, Baltimore Museum of Industry, USS Constellation, among many others; legislative efforts; traveling exhibit booth creation, delivery and set up at more than 60 events throughout the year; outdoor marketing; development of commemorative merchandise;  partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education in producing a state-wide curriculum to educate students about the Port of Baltimore; and the planning and implementation of Port 300!, the 300th anniversary Gala at which the state of Maryland named the Port of Baltimore in Mrs. Bentley’s honor to the Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore.
