The Capital Challenge Horse Show (CCHS), founded in 1993, attracts over 1200 horses and riders annually. Held at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center just outside of Washington, D.C. in early October, the show has become the precursor competition for those horses and riders who have qualified for the prestigious indoor finals a the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and the Washington International Horse Show. As the prelude to the national year-end finals, CCHS attracts the leading horses, riders, trainers and owners in the hunter and jumper disciplines. The show is also host to the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) National Finals and holds the championship rounds in nine (9) categories including Professional and Emerging Professional classes.
